It’s about telling new stories about what the future can be like: that if we can tell the right stories, and help people to see beyond their fears around climate change and the end of the age of cheap oil, there’s the potential for an economic, social and cultural renaissance the likes of which we’ve never dreamt. Transition Initiatives around the world are engaged in this exhilarating work, and In Transition, the first movie about this movement, includes footage from many of these groups. Members of Portland’s Transition group, TransitionPDX, will talk about the work being done on the city level as well as in neighborhood Transition groups throughout the city, and how to begin a Northwest District Transition Group.
